adding media from two computers

ok, so i have a bit of a problem and i need to know if there is an efficient solution

i have two computers, a home computer and a work computer. ALL of my music is on my home computer and i want it so stay there, however sometimes, i might want to download a few videos on my work computer, but it wont let me add them to my iphone without deleting all my music.

i have no problem having to delete the videos i already have on there going away, since ive probably already watched them, but the thing is that i DONT WANT IT TO TOUCH THE MUSIC I HAVE ON THERE. everything else is fine, i just dont want to have to re add my music when i get back home just because i wanted to add a movie on there.

i thought that "manually managing" everything would solve this problem, but when i try to add something it keeps telling me it will erase everything anyway.

to be honest, ive never thought "syncning" was a good idea anyways

so if anyone has a solution to this please let me know, thanks!
