iPod Touch wont connect to itunes

i just bought a ipod touch 8gb and when i connect it to itunes it gives me this
iTunes could not connect to the iPod "iPod" because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000025).
can anybody help me with this?

Does iTunes reconize the iPod. What OS are you running, what version of iTunes. Suggest you download the latest version, install and restart and then plug your iPod into a main USB 2.0 version.

Windows xp & i got itunes 7.5
when i make another user account it works but on the other user account it wont wokr

So just de-activate the other account (5 machine limit) and use the new one. Did it work?

i did it but i lost alot of my files now i cant find them thanks tho

Then look in the other file where those items are stored and import into the new account. They are still there.
