Have you tried the Capture app for taking screenshots? Or Screenshot Enabler, which lets you take screencaps just by pressing home button while toggling the mute button?

well i havent heard this one yet, i know when i turn mine own it takes a couple seconds and it pops up.

try this

1) SSH (or use SFTP) into /Applications, once there, Delete Screenshot.app
2) Reboot iPod. The Snap and View Images will still be there.
3) Open Installer, and Uninstall, then Reinstall Screenshot.app
4) Open Screenshot.app and disable its features/turn it off.
5) Open Installer once again and Uninstall it.
6) Reboot (might not be necessary).

if not then reinstall it, restart your ipod and see if that works. if all hope fails restore it if your that desperate. but in case you dont want to restore

Then look for a Dock.app in your installer i forgot which source it is if your unsure ill check for you. but i heard dock.app takes better and esier screenshots of your ipod

Screenshot has caused big-time stability and crashing issues for many people - do a search in here for other threads on this subject.

Screenshot Enabler is the easiest screenshot method by far if you're on current 1.1.4 firmware as all you do is use two hardware buttons ...

I disagree. Dock app has not been updated in forever, and even at its best it was very temperamental about taking screencaps. Everyone I know who has tried the hardware buttons method has found it by far the simplest and has not bothered with any apps for this anymore ...

Listen to Patrick... look at all those thanks!

There is no better, more stable, nor more capable capture method on the iPhone.
