Exclamation New user - how does one synch contacts and calendar with iTunes?

Hi, just cranked up my new iTouch this evening. All went well, but I can't seem to synch my newly added contacts and calendar. Is there some specific software or action on the iTunes side I need to setup? Music synched nicely.

Have you selected the iTunes tab (info) and checked sync contacts, calendars and mail accountes? After selecting, apply the changes by resynchronizing. The tab can be seen if you click on the iPhone or iPod source in the left pane.

OK -- I found the info tab as described. Not sure what to check as to contacts or calendar. MS Outlook is indicated, but I don't use it. Do I have to have a separate calendar/contact program on my PC somewhere?

i think outlook, outlook express, or windows mail are the only options for syncing contacts or calendars.
