Desperate need of Help. music folder?

Hi, my laptop recently fried, when i sent it back it had no operating system. Well, by the grace of God, 3 days before this horrific event, i bought a passport external and saved all my music. While my computer was gone, i downloaded a couple of songs for my ipod touch, (downloaded directly to the ipod). Well, now i have my computer back and up and running, everythings great, and i restored all my songs to itunes, exept for this 10 or so songs i purchased directly to the device. I have vista, and i would like to get into the files to recover my songs. But where oh where is the music folder within the ipod touch? i tried selecting *show hidden files* but it didnt show up anything. If you have any insight, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    are you jailbroken?

edit: if you are, you will have to ssh onto your iphone and go to var/mobile/media/music, from there you can copy your music onto your laptop. i have never done it but this should work.

If you downloaded through iTunes on your iPod touch, just plug it into iTunes then select "File" in iTunes and go down to "Transfer purchased songs and videos" (or something close to that) and they will be transferred to your iTunes library.
