iTouch sync deleted my music!

Ok anyone willing to help I say thanks off the top!
Heres the situation...I plugged my iTouch to my pc via usb. I have the 2.0 update and I am not jailbroken (yet). When iTunes recoginized the iTouch a message said that it noticed new apps. No big deal i downloaded them so it shoulda seen them. I okayed the sync and the wildest thing happened...all my music and video were gone. In fact it showed that I had more apps then I did music, which is strange seeing as how I was just listening to music seconds before. So in a nutshell the sync with the new apps deleted my music and video...anyone else had this happen?

I had my entire music library deleted too, it took me 4 hours to recover and get my music back.

I had the same problem - I think I caused it when I used another computer to sync with the itouch. The music is still in my itunes playlist. How can I get it back on the itouch? (I'm a newbie - be nice.)
