Ok well, I'm thinking of buying an itunes card so I can get the update, but all of a sudden I thought, I remember hearing a future update will come to iphone and ipod touch, since 1.1.4 might come out Febuary.... will they also charge to get that update tooo????
if not, im guessing those who didnt pay for this new update will get the same thing this update got + what is coming in the next update.
will apple begin charging for every update that comes up in the ipod touch???
do you think they should cut the cost to this 20.00 update??
Apple should update for free all ipod touch and iphone firmware versions.....
i think the $400 i shelled out for the touch in the first place was more than enough for apple.
and at the price i paid i should get updates for life....
after all it's not my fault they released it without opening it's full potential eh???
personally i will not pay to upgrade, since i love my ipod touch the way it is.
erm....modified...lol

Firmware updates are free. This update, if you want to call it that, cost because it added applications to your iPod, which is optional; not everybody decided to do it.
Do you know for those who go the iPod touch outside of countries that have an iTunes store are really screwed coz they can't get these apps even if they were WILLING to part with 20 bucks. Looks like they have to jailbreak them to have apps....

You bumped a month and a half old thread. Good job.
Nah, didn't jailbreak mine. I own a 32GB version which hasn't got a custom jailbreak out yet. The rest of the jailbreaks works fine with the 16GB and 8GB versions.
