kind of....one of my friends did it but it was kind of not worth it...i got it and i couldnt really reply and it was really wierd

Plenty of websites offer free texting.
Once you send one from the service, lets say www.txtdrop.com/iphone (go there from your iPod, provide your e-mail address, and the person can now text you back, and it will apear in your Inbox on your email service. Works great.
