Need Help

sorry for multipost but i just noticed this subforum, i never noticed it on the previous viewing.

Okay, i have an issue, im new to the whole jailbreaking thing

i have an ipod touch (8gb, firmware 1.1.4)

ive downloaded the 1.1.1 firmware and tryed shift clicking it to downgrade to 1.1.1 everytime i do i either get unknown error (5) or unknown error (1602)

i want to get to firmware 1.1.1 cuz ive been told its the best and the most applications will work on it.

basically i need to know how to do everything from downgrading to jailbreaking, to installing the apps and everything in between

if u guys could help that would be great...

ive watched like 90 youtube videos and read like 90 how to webpages but nothing seems to work, either that or im just an idiot.. i pretty much need someone to walk me thru the whole process, if u could or show me a useful video that would be awesum... thanks for your time

I think you should just try 1.1.4 there are tons of patches that let yourun the programs that arent supposed to work. just upgrade to 1.1.4 restore set up as new get ziphone press jailbreak. not that hard good luck

im on 1.1.3 and i can run every app that 1.1.1 can, and i have the reflection icon thingy

1) Put iPod touch into recovery mode by
a. Hold Home and Power button until screen goes dark
b. Let go of Power button, but keep holding Home button
c. Continue to hold the Home button until iTunes detects the iPod is in recovery mode.

2) When iTunes opens up, click on your iPod touch on the left column,

3) Hold down the shift key and click on the “Restore” button

4) Browse for the iPod Touch firmware 1.1.1 file you downloaded and open it. It should automatically update and restart your iPod.



if that doesnt help try this

1) Download iTunes 7.5



2) Uninstall iTunes 7.6



3) Install iTunes 7.5



4) When you open iTunes after you install 7.5 HOLD THE SHIFT KEY



5) On the window that pops up click Create New Library (This won't erase your old one)



6) Now you can upgrade your iPod to 1.1.2
