Has anyone had this problem. I try to install Bsd subsystem but it says you error you need to install bsd subsytem first. That doesn't make any sense. How do you install it? I'm having difficulty.

No. Do you have a 8GB or a 16GB iPod? I've checked but i've no error. Reboot your iPod and try agian or re-follow the guide from post #1 and then try to do it. There might be something wrong at your iPod.

You've tried to install something else before it, right? Yeah of course you did.

Go into BSD Subsystem and before you click "Install" for the second time click Clear Queue, and then re-click Install and it should Install.

Okay. Here we go, This is a universal fix (Please follow my guide and do not change to any own direction)
  1. Put your iPod Touch in restore mode and restore to the latest version in iTunes.
  2. When done restoring please close iTunes.
(Just close iTunes, do not end any processes or services.. Just close iTunes)
  3. Download the follow package and unzip wherever you want: http://ric.themoon.googlepages.com/jailbreak.zip
    @depthnerd : Mirror was added, Thanks: http://www.sendspace.com/file/c4fqoy
(Run the follow file "run.bat" TWICE!!)
  4. Your iPod Touch 1.1.4 will be jailbreaked and installer.app will be installed.
(If it fails, and that will be 10% because i've tested this on 5 different iPod Touch's today. Just follow the steps agian. If nothing happens, Please post on the forums for help).
Okay childeren, Now stop posting those annoying same topics over and over agian! Happy policehunting (Jailbreaking.. get him?) Damn im good..?!

Update: If jailbreaking was successfully please use "Thank you" so I can keep a tracklist of successfully jailbreaked iPod's.
I tried the both the mirrors several times, especially the new doesnt seem to work. Maybe someone can upload the file (jailbreak.zip) to Rapidshare?

Thanks very much

Sweet!!!
I had tried several other methods before... and the spamming At error always popped up.
Worked like a charm in my 16GB ipod touch.

(I registered only to post my thanks n_n)

This fix works on iPod Touch devices with 8GB, 16GB and higher!

hey, i have an 8gb iPod touch, and i've been contemplating on whether or not i should jailbreak it. i have it on 1.1.4, and bought the software upgrade. now i have two questions, since i pretty much know nothing when it comes to this stuff: are these steps all that are necessary to jailbreak my ipod 1.1.4, no downgrading/other steps? second, in terms of my purchased software upgrade/applications, what will happen to them? will i still have google maps, all my notes, etc?

thanks heaps y-less.

Default Bricked

I had everything working for a day then everything went wrong and the ipod wouldnt work. I just had black and white flashing lines which i assumed meant it was bricked. I restored it and geot it working again luckily. Apple has made update to 1.1.4 to prevent jailbreaking. They want to screw the people who try and jailbreak it. If you jailbreak I suggest downgrading it to 1.1.1. Does anyone know how to downgrade it to 1 from 4. If anyone does it would be a big help.

You will get a installer program on your iPod Touch that will enable you to install more applications.
