i just bought a jvc bluetooth aa-t100bt for ipod touch 2g and cant get it working

i just went and bought a jvc bluetooth aa-t100bt for my ipod touch 2g my car stereo has bluetooth built in but i just cant get it conected i click pair and the light on my ipod device flashes 3 times which means waiting connection and sometimes flashes fast and says pairing then back to waiting conection, what am i doing wrong? any help would be great please
