There's an issue (with alot of threads on Apple's support forum) about sweat/moisture getting into the remote control on the headphones, causing the units to lock up, etc. Apple's "patch" for the original problem was to require separate clicks to raise or lower the volume (you used to be able to hold + or - to raise or lower the volume, now you must press repeatedly).
