My daughter gets the following error message trying to sync her ipod Nano to the Macbook in iTunes
"Attempting to copy the disk, Amanda’s ipod failed, the disk cannot be read from or written to"
Any help would be greatly apprciated.

Which generation Nano is it? Video? I know that I got a similar error message when trying to sync 1 particular song to my Classic. I happened to remember which song I had added most recently so I was able to track it down and delete it and the iPod synced with no issues.

That doesn't really help but if she can remember the most recent bits of music she added, she might be able to remedy the situation easily.

Has she tried a restore? I would also make sure that the iPod is updated to the newest firmware and that you're using the newest iTunes. Here is an Apple Support page offering some fixes and some ideas as to the problem. Mine was the corrupted file issue as I mentioned earlier.
