My computer crashed
-Figures it would running Windows
Well anyways onto my question when my computer crashed I had no choice but to totally restore it!, and my back-up's and restore checkpoints werent available as options by the computer so now Im trying to get back to were I was now.
My question is I have about 1,600 songs on my iPod that although they are still on the iPod, my laptop has no recollection of the songs or anything! How can I get all these songs that are on my iPod to a safe place of storage, cause they're are no options in iTunes or the iPod to copy the songs from the iPod to my computer?
Thanks
Any and all replies greatly appreciated

Your best (and probably only) bet is going to be to purchase a 3rd party program that allows you to freely move your songs and other info from the iPod back onto the computer. Ages ago I used iPodCopy but it doesn't seem to be around any longer. A quick Google search yielded these two sites which seem fairly legit, but it's tough to tell unfortunately.
Thanks Binks
-I havnt tried it yet but hopefully I get great results
I have another question that I'm sure you can help me out with. . .
-How do iPhone users manage the songs on their iPhone and at the same time manage the songs on their iPods if they have one? Cause I dont want all the same music/media/photos that are on the iPhone to be synced to the iPod and vice versa

Well I check of the songs and videos (podcasts, audiobooks, etc.) that I want to sync on the iPhone and on the syncing options I choose to "Sync only checked items" and for my iPod I choose to either Sync All (regardless of checked or not) or I choose to "Manage my library manually". This allows you to simply drag and drop any song or video (or etc.) that you wish onto the iPod as opposed to choosing what to sync in the little tabs.
I've actually considered doing the latter method for my iPhone as well because sometimes syncing a particular TV episode is easier said than done.

This happened to me, pds. My comp account was corrupted and lost all my itunes stuff. I still had the music on the ipod, so heres what i did.
went to itunes, plugged in the ipod.
DID NOT resync with itunes.
enabled disk use.
went to the ipod under My Computer.
-tool->folder options->view tab-> click on show hidden files
you should see a folder appear now. i think it was called music?
copy and paste it to wherever you wish.
reupload everything from that folder to your itunes. In the folder the videos and music should have weird names like IVDSD, but when you upload it should be renamed properly.
If it doesnt work, then pay money. but it worked for me, so try it first!
