I found an interview with Steve Jobs that answers the YouTube part of your question.
Markoff: “What about YouTube–”

Jobs: “Yeah, YouTube—of course. But you don’t need to have Flash to show YouTube. All you need to do is deal with YouTube. And plus, we could get ‘em to up their video resolution at the same time, by using h.264 instead of the old codec.”
Here is a link to the blog that I got the quote from. Keep in mind that the items listed in the FAQ are as of 1/13. Some of them may/will change by the time the iPhone is released.

I would think if you were connected to the internet via EDGE it may be a bit tedious to stream video. But get yourself in range of a good wireless network and I bet you could youtube your whole day away.

Yeah, most of the serious surfing will have to be done on a wifi network. I can't imagine waiting for video downloads using EDGE technology.

Default Video on web browser

I think that it would be really cool and a great idea for the iPhone to be able to stream live video. Then it could replace peoples laptops if it just had a little bit more hard drive space!

Sorry to burst everyones bubble but as of right know the browser does not support java. That isnt to say that it wont by the time it comes out. Put it this way the software is not even finished yet so who knows. But I do know that Apple inc. does like Adobe software and supports them. So you are more than likely to see something from Adobe being supported on this device. As for all of you who still say " But they said no third party Apps" Well Steve Jobs clearly said that he would like the idea of third party apps but for know it is not ideal until proven stable. Which means that if some one comes up with a third party app they are first going to have to go to Apple to get the OK. Then if they like how it works with their device Then they might think about it. Look at it this way Apple wants to do all the quality control on software. This is a good thing. Because there are already to many SH....! Apps out there. Also Apple has done things like this for years, and that is why Apple is so much more stable than windows. Remember Macs dont usually get virusis...
