Default wifi

if it takes about a minute to load newyorktimes.com on edge, if you boost off wifi, is your speed limited to the wifi network's speed (i.e. you load pages as quick on the wifi as if you were using a laptop). also, how much faster is the 3g network compared to the edge (approx how long to load that newyorktimes.com on a 3g network)

iPhone uses the same Safari as our beloved MacBooks, so it should load just as fast on the iPhone through wifi.

Handhelds have less powerful cpus than laptops or desktops.

Most people know that can make a big difference when viewing the web. I've seen pages that took 5 seconds to render on a 200MHz cpu, but nearly instantly on a 550MHz.

Also, ATT 3G should give real world averages of about 400Kbps versus 90Kbps EDGE. So 4-5 times faster.

I heard that EDGE was updated to like 172kbps though (?)
And, yeah, I guess the CPU would make a big difference :P, but the iPhone is probably going to be pretty fast compared to most smartphones (I hope!)
