Default What time will online ordering begin?

OK, I know most of you plan to camp, so you can get your grubby little hands (no offense) on one.

But for those of us (just me?) who will order online, does anybody know when the online ordering will begin? I'm assuming 6 pm Eastern time, so I'll be in Colorado on the 29th and I'm expecting to be able to order at 4 pm Mountain time.

Anybody know?

Mike

If I were you, I would start checking at 6 PM Eastern. More than likely, the Apple.com site will be down for construction before that as they add the necessary pages to handle the sale of the phone.

There have been other rumours to the effect that online orders would not be available for at least 30 days after launch. I have no confirmation of this but I have read this on several posts on this board. If you are planning on ordering online just be prepared to wait a while, like a month, or you may be disapointed.

I think this applies to AT&T's website. I believe Apple will begin online orders at 6PM on 6/29. However you should call 1-800-MYAPPLE to make verify.

Online orders will be available at Apple.com on the 29th. Only the At&t.com site will have to wait 30 days before they can start selling it.

If the iPhone can be purchased online I recommend checking apple.com/store a few days before the 29th in case you can order it online and have it show up at your house the same day other folks can purchase it in-store. Apple has done this with other product releases.

That would be the surest way to guarantee an iPhone at launch.
