Default What made you decide to get an iPhone?

I resisted the iPhone at first because I like really thin phones and the iPhone is kinda big compared to some (like a Razr or a Samsung).

A friend got an iPod Touch and I really liked the interface. I went to the Apple store to check out the iPhone but wasn't convinced at first; just too big. Then I saw the calendar feature and realized I could retire my Filofax, essentially reducing my daily load by half.

The rest, as they say, is iPhone love affair history...

Its really not that big....thickness wise anyways.

The first thing that made me want it was that it was a touch screen (this was back when it was the only touch screen) and almost no buttons. After that, it was things like the accelerometer, actual internet (minus flash), and iPod.

I was amazed by the touch screen. Everyday I use it, I think about how much I love it. Even with the faults, I never have regreted my purchase of v1 or 3G.

Yeah, that's what I meant by the interface; I just love how it works!

well i live in a technological crippled town and i had a chance to use and iphone that a friend of mine had gotten. i played around with it and i was hooked on all of its features. this was a V1 so i went until the 3G came out to put my addiction at rest. i could not simply pay that damn much for a V1.

The fact that it was OS X and the touch screen made me melt.

For me, it was the all-in-one aspect of the iPhone. I love having my iPod with everywhere I go. I love being able to have the full Internet at my disposable whenever I can't get on my laptop. And I love how it all fits in a small, sexy package.

After several years & way too many models, I saw the iPhone as a fresh break in how to interact with one's phone beyond calling. The OS X meant one got a REAL OS and not some patch work OS and, of course the interface & touch screen were pure Apple. (Been an Apple fan since....gonna date myself here....Apple ][. )

The hardest part was waiting for the 2G unit (for bugs and such to be worked out). To me, it ranks as the best cell phone I've ever owned (and I've been using cells since 1989).
