Default What is irony?

When you consider the constant Microsoft vs Apple bashing that happens out there. I was looking at the source code of ZiPhone last night and realized one thing!! The Windows version of ZiPhone is written in Microsoft Visual Studio.NET.

Kind of ironic don't you think? A Microsoft tool, hacking an Apple product, for the benefit of Apple users.

The irony of it all.

LOL, that is funny. A microsoft tool, hacking an Apple Product, to allow T-mobile to take business from AT&T also. Boy, how many different companies can be involved with that.

.NET is pretty handy. I do a lot of work with it and I sometimes wish it would be platform independent. Kind of like Java, but without the slowness and overhead...

Have you guys checked out WPF in .NET 2008 yet? I wrote some amazing looking web sites for work using it.

The HTC Touch Diamond and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 uses it for their GUI's. Totally kills the iPhones GUI.

I wouldn't go THAT far. I've seen what WPF can do, and sure, it is nifty, but I don't see that it can really replace the kind of ingenuity and research that Apple put into its mobile device UI. The tools are there to make something really remarkable but I just don't see it tackling what Apple's done right now.

I've yet to check out the GUIs in-depth for those phones. But from the demos they look good. But I don't like the fact of having to go through 57 menu options to get to something on Window Mobile 6. Where as on the iPhone it's just a couple of key touches.

Those shakey icons do it for me every time!!
