I don't know if it is possible for this indicator to change without submersion. If it could because of its location near an opening of the phone, this could possibly affect anyone who sweats or lives in an extremely humid environment.
It would suck, but they are going to say sweat is, indeed, water damage, no matter how much you got in the headphone jack. You wouldn't unplug the headphones while the phone is wet, though, would you?

I would like a charger port cap or plug of some sort, just for peace of mind. I don't like that fact that it is so exposed through my current skin. The revo looks ok, but the lack of a belt clip shoots that idea down.

I think maybe the side facing out is coated so its not as vulnerable????? But the under side is vulnerable so only water from the inside can affect it... Just a theory

I hope it takes alot for that thing to show that its been wet... My last phone all I did was have in my pocket while I was playing basketball and it ended up showing it got wet, and they wouldn't cover jack.

I have confirmed this.

the water indicator is IN FACT in the headphone tunnel.

does itmake sense no, but its an EASY way for troubleshooters to tell whether or not there has been water damage.

Doesnt matter.... Used to be a Cell tech, if water has been inside a phone a majority of your techs will be able to tell.. In a Iphone, Deffinately. I used to love how customer would tell me how thier phone has NEVER been near water as it leaked all over my desk.

The white thing you're seeing is part of the headphone jack assembly. All headphone jacks have this.

Next time you go post about info you think you know, look it up. Dont guess.
you're correct-and it's not white, it's actually reflective like metal.
