    T-mobile iphone on 3G

    Hey guys, I have a unlocked v1 iphone on t-mobile, a couple of days ago i turned off my wifi and i got a 3G logo where my EDGE used to be. I'm on 2.1 but the 3G logo is the older logo with the white box. Has this happened to anyone?

    Really odd. T-Mobile 3G, despite being in only a select few cities, is on the 1700 mhz spectrum. The iPhone radio does not carry this band.

    Perhaps what you noticed was really the old GPRS indicator.

    Yea, it's weird but it says 3G, it certainly isn't 3G speed though.
