i know the external speaker's cheap, but im starting to notice my speakers crackling. not only does it do this while listening to music and podcasts, it also happens with some of the stock ringtones on the loudest settings. is this happening to anyone else?
I feel like the speaker isnt strong enough. this is why we probably wont get much louder ringtones or alerts. If you have a song or tone with more bass, it wont be able to handle it as well, but I agree that it sucks
mine does this when i have the EQ set on a setting that allows more bass. Such as the Rock or Bass Boost selections. when I turn the EQ completely off I don't have this problem.

I was also hearing crackling sounds... I shut off the EQ and now no more crackling sounds...

no prob it's a bummer because i really like some of the EQ settings. they sound great when listening through the earbuds, but unfortunately the speakers just distort with the slightest amount of bass
