I'll write the story, then ask my questions.

I have a 4gb iPhone. But I want to get it repaired. It has like a little blotch at the top right of the screen where all the pixels are really bright. So I wanted to get it repaired at Apple, but I'm not even sure if they'll fix it cause its a 4gb. I didn't buy it new either. My friend sent his in, got it fixed for something, and never opened it. So he sold it to me. So I'm not the original buyer. I also have 3rd party apps on it. After it gets all fixed and all, I would like to sell it on eBay because I want a refurbished 8gb. So I figured I'd be making a bit of money as well because I'll just unlock it before I sell it, and up the price some.

Now for the questions:
1. Will Apple even take my phone to repair it? I ask this because its a 4gb and I'm not the original buyer either.
2. If I do send it in to get fixed, will they give me another 4gb? Or keep it and send me an 8gb. That might be bad because I have 3rd party apps. I know you can hide them to send it in to be fixed, but if they keep it, am I screwed?
3. Should I even sell it on eBay and get a refurbished 8gb? I can't get an iPhone 2, cause I don't have enough money.

So. If somebody could answer these questions, that'd be awesome.

just restore your phone set up as new and they cant tell it has third party apps

Well isn't there a special mode or something that ziPhone has that hides it or whatever? Cause I don't want to restore, and then have them send it back or something. I'll only restore if I know I'm gonna sell or whatever. Cause I'm still not even sure if I'll sell it. Do you advise getting a refurbished 8gb? Because it's much cheaper, and I'll be getting a bit of profit.

Well Apple won't even touch your phone after they find 3rd party applications on it. That's a violation of the warranty agreement and they won't fix it for you (for free at least). A refurbished 8 GB would probably be a worthy purchase but if you look at Wildonrio's recent post the eBay prices of used iPhones are really high right now.

Alright, then I'm definitely gonna sell my iPhone. Now to unlock it, can I just download anySIM on installer? Or is it much more complicated than that?

Not sure why you won't take it to Apple.

1. Your phone is still under warranty
2. Warranty is transferrable even if you are the 5th buyer
3. You'll either get a new 4gb iPhone on the spot, or you will get an 8gb refurb

Just restore the thing and take it in.
