short activation - iPhone 3G

not to sound dumb, but i activated mine at 7:00. first time took a second, and it said that request couldn't be completed, i unplugged it, and the phone was working. did i do everything right? meaning, am i currently being billed correctly? it'd be bad if it were billing me with no data plan??

No your not getting billed if you did not get a confirmation. Besides if you can't use your phone than this is a sure sign your account is not activated, so check to see if you can make calls.

i can do everything. it never really said confirmed, as it said the request timedout, or something. but, phone works, texts work, internet works
