Default Scratch on protector or screen?

I know this almost impossible to answer without seeing it and the solution is fairly easy but I am going to ask it anyway. I have a scratch on my screen. I think it is only on the screen protector but am not entirely sure. Two questions: How prone is the screen to scratches? and are the apple store screen protectors solid? I know I could just pull it off and check, but they are a complete pain to take off and reapply without dust etc,

just looking for a solid opinion.

The screen is fairly scratch resistant. Here is a video of someone taking his keys to the screen with no effect.
