Well, first, do you have any audio file editing software? If you don't, then it might be a little tough to do.
Second, I would go ahead and try it out first and see if it is constant or not. If it is constant, then you need some audio editing software to use to insert the "blank" space in the loop to break up the tone. the length of the space is up to you, but I would suggest no more than 5 seconds. You can loop it to hear how it would come out as a ring tone.
It also helps to know what platform ( OS )you are using as well.
I have WIN XP, and I first convert to a MP3 in iTunes, then use Winamp to convert to a wav file. Then I edit in Sound Forge. Then I use Winamp to convert to MP3, and then convert again in iTunes.
The blank space can be created with recording for 5 seconds with the mic off. I suggest doing this on a seperate track and then insert into the current file so you don't accidentally record over it.
If you are having trouble, PM me and we can exchange emails and you can send it to me and I'll do it for you.
