Default recall

i was wondering if you guys could help me,

i saw a thread on here i think about getting the iphone 2g replaced by apple due to a recall on the speaker,

ive searched the forum and cant find it anymore, can anyone link me please?

There has always been problems with the V1 and the 2G but all they did was the software updates each time.

If you take it into the genius bar (mmmmmm yum) anyway....they will just upgrade to the latest 3.0 software.

all i can remember from the tread was that the guy rang apple and they wanted him to take it to the genius bar but he insisted that he sent it to them
he then went on to say that its cheaper for apple to replace it rather than repair it

I've never heard of any recall of any iPhone model either. If there had been one, they would have published some sort of notice on their site, as they have with the USB power adapters that came with the iPhone, which you can read here. I think you're out of luck on this one and just take yours to an Apple store to see how much a repair or replacement will be if it really bothers you that much.
