That's what mine is set to and the only time I have to punch in the code is in the morning or if I install a new app.

My 1 hour setting seems to be working fine. Have you tried changing it to see if the other values work? What interval are you seeing with the 4 hours setting? Are you charging, docking, or syncing it in between. I have no idea if these have any impacts, just throwing things out there.

no it justs asks for it whenever it feels like it and it's annoying. the reason I use the passcode is to hide my mms. I will try 1 hour and see if thats working fine. I had turned off the phone and everything but it still asks for it whenever. it's more like 15min or 30 min than anything else.

Hmm, I have mine set for 4 hours and the only time I ever have to enter the pswd is in the morning. Thats strange...

In my experience, it makes me enter it again if I am jumping a large geographical distance. I am guessing this is a security measure enacted in case of a theft. (skipping town after swiping an iPhone off an unattended table, perhaps)

Or it could just be a glitch associated with the phone auto-updating time from the cell tower.

I actually am having the same problem. I had mine set to for 4 hours and i found that i'd have to unlock it throughout the day even within 30 minutes of using the phone. It was annoying enough that i stopped using a passcode.
