Here are a few pictures from the Georgia Aquarium today. I dive there every two weeks to help with the maintenance of some of their exhibits and also help maintain some of their dive equipment.

This one is the top of the main exhibit, called Ocean Voyager. It's a 6.3 million gallon tank with 4 whale sharks:



This one is of one of the whale sharks as it swims by. This one is about 21 ft. long:



Here is the top of the Beluga Whale habitat with 2 of the Belugas. Today, I spent about an hour in this one, vacuuming up bits of whale poo and uneaten food:

Thanks, but it's not a job...it's a volunteer position and they don't allow us to interact with the animals, at least not intentionally. I have had one of the Belugas nip at my fins when I've been cleaning the big window in their tank. They're also pretty vocal when we're down there too. They chirp like birds and pop their jaws (open and close their mouths to make a popping sound) when they think we're invading their space.

The whale sharks are very gentle, but they're like buses gliding though the water. They don't like to move so if you're in front of them, they'd probably run into you instead of avoiding you. Because they're eyes are on either side of a 3 ft. wide mouth, they have a kind of "blind spot" right in front of them.

yeah, i just realized i didn't take any action pics... which i usually do.

At least in this pic you can see the turn at which we spent most of our time.
