My Sony has an "interval' function and it takes a frame at specified times. I think most of these were at 1 frame a second. They are then sped up 300% in my editing software.

Whatever you do, it's great. I love sunsets too... Every day, I check it out to see if it's worth a picture. I wish I could travel more and record sunsets from all over the world. Hey, all over the state wouldn't be so bad. Time, there's never enough time.
