The best way to do that would be to use a computer controlled DSLR. However since I don't have a laptop nor a DSLR, I use my camcorder. My Sony has an "interval' function and it takes a frame at specified times. I think most of these were at 1 frame a second. They are then sped up 300% in my editing software.
The hardest thing about sunsets, is that you only get one chance a day.
