Yes they were, and so are these (except for the last one).

the fruit (the green things) do you actually know what they are? My family is from Jamaica (they are all indian though, not african american) and they LOVE that. My dad has a few trees....

Hi Ramesh,
In the Philippines it's called Atis, and is one of my favorite fruits. Here's a link about it. In Wikipedia it is called sugar-apple. So you're actually growing it in southern California?
