the fruit (the green things) do you actually know what they are? My family is from Jamaica (they are all indian though, not african american) and they LOVE that. My dad has a few trees....

In the Philippines it's called Atis, and is one of my favorite fruits. Here's a link about it. In Wikipedia it is called sugar-apple. So you're actually growing it in southern California? http://www.philippineherbalmedicine.org/atis.htm

Jamaicans seem to call stuff whatever. lol. They call it sweet sap. They love it. I'm not a big fan. I moved from Florida, where some of my family is, and that's where the trees are...

Yeah it can get pretty messy and the texture needs a little getting use to.
