Default only 10% wanted to pay full price and sign a contract with AT&T.

A survey by research firm IDC found that while 60% of respondents were interested in the iPhone, only 10% wanted to pay full price and sign a contract with AT&T.

This is a stupid survey.

Do you want an iPhone? Yes!
Do you want to pay full price? Umm, not really, no.

Makes you wonder who paid for the survey, Verizon?

Yeah I have to agree. It is dumb because most nobody wants to pay a cell phone contract anyways. The number for any phone would be the same.

People don't want to pay for it, but they have to pay for it.

So what people want and do are not the same thing.

gee, who wouldn't want to pay a lower price?

From the article:

I wish they would break those stats out... "would you buy the iPhone if it was offered at your carrier?" That would reveal how popular the AT&T decision was.
