when i plug in my iphone to my macbook iphoto opens up but my iphone doesnt show up?? WTF?? i am about to restore and dont want to lose my photos. can anybody help??

yeah that's the same one i have...when i had that issue...what i did was open iPhoto when my iPhone was already connected

Did you try plugging the iPhone in and out of the Macbook. Sometimes iPhoto does not recognize my phone also. If you did not sync, you should not lose any photos.
Last night I had to unplug the phone and then plug it in with iPhoto already open. I do not know why...
