Need help!!!

I downloaded the new software fix (8/1/09) on a jailbroken 2G iphone. At end of download got "SIM card not supported". Phone goes to dial emergency #, and nothing else.
What can I do??
Try to rejailbreak it??
I have T-Mobile.
Phone was working fine before download attempt.
My daughter said I should not have tried to download on a jailbroken phone.
Any suggestions??

Is T-Mobile the official carrier in the country you're in, or did you jailbreak it to unlock it? If so, doing software updates screws that up.

T-Mobile is my carrier in the US.
The phone was unlocked.

You'll need to re-jailbreak using redsn0w, but choose the 3.0 ipsw file when asked to. Then you should be able to unlock with ultrasn0w.

Thanks for your help.
My buddy fixed the phone , but used version 3.0.1.
Need to get back to 3.0.
How do I do it?

You'll want to stay on the 3.0.1 FW, not revert back to 3.0. 3.0 has a SMS vulnerability. You did the right thing by updating. You use the 3.0 IPSW, but you stay on FW 3.0.1 (this works because there is very little difference between 3.0 and 3.0.1).
