Default iphone wont sync with comp??

hey guys, i was reading around google and was pleased to know that this was one of the best iphone forum/websites out there but i have a huge problem.

I have a second hand iphone v 1.1.4. I live in canada so im sure its been hacked so it can be worked with rogers. It only has 2.5 hours of talk time and looks brand new. So heres my problem, itunes wont recognize the iphone (i have windows xp sp2). I've tried updating the iphone drivers in the device manager, installing various itunes, restarting the computer, tried every USB port on my computer (i have 6, 4 rear, 2 front), i've checked the "run service.msc" thingy and MADE sure it was on. I'm running out of ideas, do i have to restore my iphone? if so do i have to REhack the iphone and install all of the apps that are on it? if so will it be easy for me to recover all the applications? please help

If you have to restore it to get it recognized, you can easily unlock it with Ziphone.

Does it try to import the pictures? IF it does, just close out that window and itunes will open.

yes, but i've disabled that feature where when i plug it in, it wont open those silly folders. The iphone also opens itunes but itunes doesn't have it listed in the devices.

are you sure your "Apple Mobile Device" service is "started" and set to "automatic"?
