Unhappy iPhone Vs Palm TX

Hey guys
I need your opinion on something.
I will be looking for a new phone in the near future. My current phone is a brick. I'm very interested by the iphone and have almost set my mind on one once then are released in the UK within the next 4 months. looks very cool .
what concerns me though is that i currently have a Palm TX (PDA) which already does almost all of the things the iphone does (not including being a phone). One thing that my Palm has the upper hand on however is that i have TomTom on it which i use frequently and find it very useful. Iv had a look around and see that the iphone does not offer satnav of this time, and wont be for a while, if ever (correct me if i'm wrong).
I think it would be a waste to own both products that do almost the same thing (not including the iphone being a phone)
If i think of them both as PDA's (not saying they both are) then one has the ability of being a phone. and the other has the ability of being a satnav.
does anyone have a PDA and an iphone?

My question really is, should i sell my Palm and get an iphone with hopes that it will have satnav in the near future (or if you think the iphone is so much better than the Palm that i should forget about the satnav and just get an iphone). Or stick with the Palm and get a phone which is just a phone to go with it?
all opinions are welcome. I just want to know what you people think of my situation.

Thanks in advanced
Ritchie

sat nav requires hardware that I am fairly certain that the iPhone does not have. However, it might be possible that a bluetooth device could be used to connect to the iPhone and display geographic location. But the iPhone has to be programmed to be able to decipher the incomming data.

cheers for the reply
yes the iphone would need hardware, a GPS bluetooth receiver.
Thats what i'm using with the Palm with TomTom software.
Do you (or anyone else) think that apple will included satnav with the iphone anytime soon?
cheers

There has been rumor of gps adapter in the near future. I sold my T|X to help pay for my iphone, and I have no regrets, although I liked my T|X!

why don't you just wait two more days and you'll know all those specifics. Plus I doubt selling your palm at this moment vs. Tuesday will be that much of a price drop.
