Yes, it will happen eventually. Probably a few years away before the carriers allow it though. Besides for iPhone you would need a VoIP client that runs in java. Does anyone know of one?

Yes.....I can see it now...... AT&T, Verizon and the rest allowing free calls using VOip.........NOT!
