iphone screenshots?

Can anyone think of a way to capture screenshots of what's on an iphone?

I'm trying to write up some documentation for someone (he's older and has never owned a computer, let alone a smartphone) and would like to give simple comprehensive directions on how to use Google Maps.

I'm wondering if this is even possible since the iPhone does not support 3rd party software and there is no remote connection of it by PC...
