Iphone restore always stuck at apple logo, no spinning wheel

Hi everyone.. I've screwed up my iphone enough and restored to know all the tricks... I tried different cables, computers, DFU.. I think this problem isn't itunes, the phone wont't get the spinning wheel at all that usually indicates it's restoring. Itunes just times out. I tried different firmware versions, ibrikr (which was doing something weird at first, showing red like it was booting, then switched to green immediately after ?) So.. I dunno, this hasn't happened before. Is there anything i can do to kick the iphone into starting the restore process? It will stay at the apple logo with NO spinning wheel indefinately until i hold sleep and home to restart it.

And you don't get any indications of it being found in iTunes?

yup, itunes sees it fine.. that's how i start the restoring process. but after it says "preparing iphone for restore" the iphone reboots and just shows the apple logo, no spinning wheel. and itunes eventually times out

Try closing iTunes completely. Then put the phone in the dock, and open iTunes. If that doesn't work, try taking it off and returning it to the dock. I've had a similar problem, and I had to do series of starting and stopping. If iTunes sees the phone eventually it will work.

    Good luck

No no.. itunes ALWAYS sees the phone.. that part is no problem. Just the phone seems to get stuck during the beginning of the restore process.. everytime. Just gets frozen on the apple logo

If you have iTunes version 7.6.2 installed, and the problem persists as you say, you should probably return the phone.
