Default iPhone plans question-texting

Okay, first off, I am under the "existing customer" category. So, my plans are $20, $30, and $40 options. So, I was wondering if I get the $30/month one, and then find out that I use more than 1500 messages, will AT&T let me upgrade to the $40/month one? Or am I stuck with it for two years?

They will let you upgrade. No cell phone carrier is going to refuse more money At the worst (which I highly doubt) they'll extend your contract for changing your plan.

Yeah, but I'm not changing my "plan plan". My voice plan would stay the same, I would just be changing my iPlan.

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking they won't change your contract. I've been with Verizon and Alltel, and I changed my text plan almost monthly, and they never had a problem with it.

No problem at all. It's just a feature that you can easily change online by calling customer care.

Oh good, I don't have texting now with AT&T, and I REALLY didn't feel like getting the 1500/month, and then racking up $500 on top of that. Thanks! =]

I don't see any issues. I've been with AT&T (Cingular) for almost 4 years now, and I've bumped up or down my plan probably 4 or 5 times now without any penalty or any hassle from customer service.
