iPhone is waterproof
Figured id share this, friends phone fell in the pool, submerged for about 2 seconds..yea fast reflex's huh?
she shaked the hell out of it all worried and well....it worked fine for the most part, there was a straight diagonal line across the screen that was basically water trapped in there, as well as some message kept poping up for a day or 2 saying that "this item is not meant for the iphone" or something. Well, eventually the water started evaporating in the screen, and the phone is completely back to normal after a week as if nothing ever happened.
Anyone got any similar stories?

Wow, she is extremely lucky. Whoever saved that iPhone within 2 seconds is quite an impressive person! =D

i do....
i work in a restaurant, and we're obviously told not be using our cell phones at work. but since in my downtime, a nice text message now and then, or a check of the weather comes in handy, i keep it in my pocket. I was bussing a table, when the tray tipped and water spilled allllllll over me, and only on my left side (the side where i keep my iphone, of course). So, i freak out, but can't publicly because im in the middle of the restaurant, and im not supposed to have my phone on me. Since it was through my pocket and my apron, it wasnt as bad as a pool, but the water went straight into the dock connector. I finished the table, and went into the front room, and freaked out! I was blowing air into my phone for a good 5 minutes, and also kept getting the "this accessory was not designed to work with iPhone" message. Everything still worked just fine though.
my real worry was that i had modded it, so what happens if i have to bring it in! Since everything worked fine, i wasn't as worried, but i went home and reset it, just to be safe. Since then, no issues. I was so thankful, i went out and bought a leather case to keep it safe in my pocket.

i would definitely invest in some water-resistant pants.
i've worked in a restaurant and have had similar things happen to me, but usually it was someone else spilling something on me...
waiting is definitely a dirty job

You got really lucky. A water bottle spilled over on my iphone and after drying it and sticking it in a bowl of uncocked rice over night (rice absorbs moisture) the top part of my screen would not work on touch. I could use the bottom half but not the top. I restored and no luck. I had to get a replacement phone .

Actually, I was doing dishes last week while listening to music and my iPhone fell in the sink. It was under the faucet for about 2-4 seconds with the Agent 18 on. I let it dry and there's no difference whatsoever.
