Default iphone contantly wont stop asking to turn on airplane mode

yesterday i pluged my iphone into a monster cable in the car to charge it. and it asked me if i wanted to turn on airplane mode to reduce interference. i pressed no because i only wanted to charge the phone not play music. so i let it charge only, (no music being played). and after it had charged i unplugged it and went on my way, now at random intervals it asks me wether i want to turn on airplane mode or not, it will ask me mid text or if it is just sitting there at night. and it drains the battery. i tried plugging it back into the cable and unplugging it again but that did nothing, i also cleared all of the memory from the phone and reloaded it with my back up from itunes but it still does this. im so lost at this point, any help would be appreciated.

Wow, never heard of this one. Did you do a hard reset of the phone or just turn it off and back on?

I too am stumped. Is this the V1 or 3G? Have you tried saying yes to the airplane mode? Maybe that will end it. If and when you get this fixed, I would not be using that charger again.
May end up going to Apple Store if there is one near you.

One last suggestion and after that I am stumped. Try plugging and unplugging several times. This happens sometimes using headphones and when unplugged there is no sound from the speaker on the phone. You sometimes have to do it several times to get to work.
There are smarter people on here and I am sure you will get a suggestion that works.

The only thing I can think of is that it somehow damaged the prongs? But I don't see how you could constantly keep getting the message though.

And what do you mean by hard reset? I'm assuming you're talking about restoring, but if not, you should definitely try that.

Hard reset = holding the home and sleep/wake button together for 10 seconds

Some people consider hard resetting as restoring
Also, the OP said it took an hour. I don't think a hard reset takes an hour.
