Okay I don't know what's going on with this device, but it seems like every other day my phone crashes and I have to restore. The crash seems to be happening when I am installing new apps from the app store on the iPhone. Also it takes an unusually long amount of time to back up. I have the original iPhone with firmware 2.1, and it is still giving me problems. I don't know what to do. I went into the AT&T store the other day and showed the people there that it just wouldn't turn on. It just sat on the startup screen, the silver apple, for a really long time and never boots up. Until that is I go in and restore it. And I'm tired of restoring the phone 2 or 3 times a week and I have stopped syncing music and files because it just takes so long to back up. Please someone help. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
How many pages of apps do you have?

I would completely remove all the apps from the phone and install them through iTunes. I have heard several people having problems with buying apps on the phone. Do all your purchasing and updating on iTunes and then just sync it over.
I have the same problem right now it is on the black screen with the apple logo on it. I can't hook it up to the computer nothing works. What do i need to do? I have 4 1/2 pages on my home screen and only about 3 pages are apple apps.
It's me v v
yeah this is pritty fightening. The only thing that worked for me was to press and hold the sleep and home buttons and at the same time connect to iTunes (not easy). As soon as you connect release the sleep button. This will hopefully enable the iTunes connection icon on your iPhone screen and iTunes will recognize your iPhone. You'll then have to recover from a back up.
You may have to try a few times!

I have 3 pages of apps is that too many?
Weeeeeell, it might be too many apps. Obviously, it shouldn't be, but the current firmware apparently has some real issues if you tip the application map too heavily:

And, as stated, only install apps through iTunes, never though the iPhone appstore. It just doesn't work right now.
