Default iPhone Backup

Why is it that everytime I sync my iPhone it has to back up. This takes a good halfhour. Is their anyway that I can stop this from happening and just get to the sync?

When it says backing up, on the top bar where it says Backing Up, just click on the X in the circle to the right of it. It'll cancel the back up and continue with the sync.

Because now we have applications...
The more you have, the longer it takes.
And the more you buy from the mobile App Store, the longer it takes.

It takes especially long when you download a new application on your phone and then transfer it to itunes. Atleast for me it does...but i guess thats part of the process.

I just finished doing a crazy long back up a few minutes ago. I pust put it back in to see how long it would take if I had to do it back to back. It was acually really quick after I backed it up the second. Not to mention but the 2 backups were on 1 minute apart.
