Iphone and itunes have different names-won't sync

I've got a 1.14 jailbroken phone, and somehow, I was able to get my outlook and songs back on my iphone (like the backed up stuff), but new info, including videos, won't sync. I noticed that my itunes and my iphone have different names, and I thought that might be the problem.
Problem is, I don't know how to fix that!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might have to restore, and pay particular attention when prompted for the name.

You might try resetting everything, and then re-syncing.

I'm sure there are others out there with more advanced advice.

Thanks for the reply; I saw that might be a necessary step, but I was hoping that there was a way to, say, add a user to the itunes sync, kind of like palm could. But I couldn't find such an option.
