Default iPhone 2 might be delayed!!!

TUAW just wrote that the 2.0 firmware might come out later than we thought, thus the iPhone 2 will come out later as well.... See details here.
That sux! I can't wait any longer...... I'm such a kid when it's about the iPhone

they said all along that the new firmware would be released in late June. Steve even said it specifically when they made the announcement.

Aye, but Jobs also stated that the SDK would be out in February, but it came out in early March.

Either way, I expect to see both the 2.0 firmware and the 3G iPhone no later than the first week of July, and plenty of announcements on the 9th at WWDC.

Also, TUAW states that a (reliable) source has told them that the pictures of the 3G iPhone (black and shiny) are indeed the real thing. But of course, it should still be treated as a rumor.

nooooooooooooo!

yes, steve jobs did indeed say "late june" at the last iphone event, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise. but he usually likes to under-commit and over-deliver, so i won't quite give up hope yet...

I'm with you macgirl. I'm going to try and remain positive and hope we don't have to wait all the way until July.

All of the iPhone stories out of TUAW have seemed a bit screwy today. I don't know who they are talking with, but honestly most of it so far does not make any sense.

My point was that I don't expect it until late June which is contrary to many posts on EiC. Many people are assuming that the firmware update will be available on June 9th. Based on last year, I tend to believe the word of Steve. He could surprise us, but I don't really expect it.

I just sold my iPhone on eBay a couple hours ago, so I'll just be patient...

Starting to agree with you. I thought the phone might be released on 6/16, but probably going to be the same day that V1 was brought out.
Since I am not that interested in the new phone, I am hoping Apple with throw a bone to all the V1 people and release the new firmware and app store on the 9th. We will find out in a few days.
