Internal screen mark/crack... getting longer

There seem to be a mark/crack on the internal screen of my Iphone, not sure how it got there but its getting longer by the day. It seems to be something to do with the LCD, if i push the power button to switch to standby it clears and cannot be seen. As soon as i press the standby button it shows up.

I've attached a pic of the mark which shows a bit blurru but it actually two fine line on the screen.

Any ideas what the issue could be, would a complete reset fix this?

I'll start by asking if you've dropped the phone or if it has had any kind of physical damage done to it? If not, then I would try a restore but the most likely problem is that it's a hardware issue that is covered under Apple's warranty. If the restore doesn't work and you know for sure it wasn't caused due to physical damage then I would recommend taking it to the nearest Apple store and having them take a look.
