I think the real question is why NOT to jailbreak?

Nothing about the phone stops functioning and if anything goes terribly wrong, you can always restore.

Could not have said it better myself. And also should mention that you don't have to be a genius to do it. I was technically challenged when i first began modding. And well, you just get the hang of it eventually thanks to a little help or alot from your friends and adopted family at the EIC! :P

I am thinking about jail-breaking as well. is there an app to do a "find" in your calendar so you can locate a specific appointment?

If you're sticking to the lazy approach rather than finding past threads on this, I think you'd be better off starting with 'I'd really like to know if there are programs that do XYZ' that particularly interest you.

I say this because by now there are apps to cover *almost* every big category - ebook readers, games of all kinds, utilities, toys, some productivity apps etc ....

You can do the same thing with a webapp using webclips if you don't want to jailbreak for this option. I have used it and it works without issue.

i jailbroke for about 45mins, you can do a load of well cool stuff but its all your own choice, do you want to mess with and chance breaking it, or do you just want to gaze at its pure elegance, i think its perfectly fine as it is!

the main reason is that i really dont have a clue what i'm doing (ha ha), all the people on here a far to clever. i thought i was good with a computer, coming on here was like going from being top boy at secondary school back to nursery!

Thats one of my main reasons also! We need the idiots guide. I have seen some run throughs on the EIC but when your a Genius even what seems to be very basic instructions can seem complex to the average mind!

Well, it really is that easy.

just plug in your phone, click Jailbreak only in ZiPhone, and youre set.

ZiPhone is a program that one downloads from ziphone.org.

I'm still on the fence about jailbreaking. Part of the reason is that most of the apps that people rave about seem to be of the 'cosmetic' variety. Nothing against that, it's just that it doesn't move me quite as much as it does others. I guess i'll check out the 'must have apps' threads and see what's out there.

The other part of the reason is the 2.0 in June. Jailbreaking seems very simple though, so maybe i'll take the plunge. I don't know why i'm scared, i guess because i dig this phone so much i'm hesitant to change anything about it.

So is there an MMS app available to jailbreakers?
