I need help. Please.

I know this is probally a noob question and asked a million times. But i would appreiate it if you could answer me.

I have ATT and a sony W580i.

If i buy a normal iphone off ebay (etc)

Can i just put my sim card into it and my phoen will work for calls???

Because i dont really want the data plan. because i dont mind not being able to go online when im away from wifi ( wifi is all really need )

Is that all i need to do? if not can u tell me the process?

No, you need a special sim for the iPhones. You can get one from AT&T and then cancel your data plan.

I am on ATT. I have a contract, and a phone( normal phone ). Im buying an iphone, from the internet.
Can i take the card out of the current phone and put it into the iphone, and will it work. And what steps do i have to take to get it to work.

No. I wish it was that easy. At the store they will transfer your current number to a new iPhone sim card. Simple process. ATT does all the work.

EDIT: Wait when you say buying an iphone off the internet ... do you mean unlocked? Or a 1st generation iphone?
